The 1st Isle of Wight Environmental Conference (IOWEC) will be held at Cowes Yacht Haven on Tuesday 26th June 2018, 09.30 – 16.30. This conference is initilised by Isle of Wight Council to create a platform for stakeholders working on the energy and environmental sectors to better discuss key issues regarding the future development of the island.
We are asking participants to consider how the Island can secure a low carbon, resource efficient and environmentally sensitive future. The best suggestions will shape a new Environmental Action Plan which the council will develop during 2018.
The Conference is an opportunity to hear about good practice on the Island and to be inspired by local businesses which are contributing to green growth.
As someone with expertise and enthusiasm in this subject, this will be an opportunity for you to consider and contribute to our direction of travel through the workshop sessions. These will cover a range of topics including our future energy system, circular economy, sustainable tourism, electric vehicles, rural enterprise, protecting the marine environment and regeneration.
If you would like to attend, please register here.
